With sustainability central, Colibries creates a collection for the growing environmentally conscious generation. A collection that is fun all year round with a timeless design and a fashionable color palette. Made of washable paper, a unique natural plant material with a leather-like appearance. The collection varies from bags to home accessories.

The founder Thuy was born in Vietnam and has spent most of her life in the Netherlands. Her greatest passion: interior and product design. In 2010 Thuy traveled through the villages of Vietnam and became acquainted with the traditional basket weavers. Impressed by the intricate and practical design of their work, she felt as if she had found what she was looking for. She wanted to give a new story to this dying heritage. Thus Colibries was born.

Colibries is committed to supporting basket makers: artisans, craftsmen and producers. They partner with other small and creative businesses that focus on socially sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.

The environment

Commitment to ethical sourcing and production and quality products. Colibries uses washable paper material that is FSC certified and meets the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification. They find it very important that the material is produced and processed in a responsible manner. The paper material is vegan and a good alternative to many leather-based products.

A nice product

All products are handmade, which leaves traces. Each product has its own unique characteristics that are the result of a refined effect achieved by a special coloring technique! Each product offered also includes a story about the production of the product, with each story a unique dose of inspiration.
