What is The Nordic Swan Seal of Approval?

Swan Ecolabelling sets high standards for products and services and assesses the entire life cycle - from raw materials to production, use, waste and recycling. This holistic approach is crucial to reducing the overall impact. There is a special focus on climate, circular economy, no harmful chemicals for human health and the environment (including aquatic ecosystems) and biodiversity, combined with a focus on health and quality. No microplastic and safe for humans and marine biodiversity.

Management of the Nordic Swam label

The label is administered by the Nordic Ecolabelling Board. This board consists of representatives of the various Scandinavian governments, who want to promote sustainable consumption through the label.

What does the quality mark stand for?

The Nordic Swan label stands for a number of issues:

• Strict environmental requirements at all stages of production. This concerns both the extraction of raw materials and the processing into products, packaging material and waste processing
• Strict requirements regarding the use of chemicals and toxic substances in the products
• There should be an active focus on innovation and sustainable product development. This applies to production as well as services and transport.
• The quality mark guarantees that a product has met all the conditions before it is allowed.
