- Fold an extra layer into the front insert if you have a little boy who pees forward naar
- Fold an extra layer into the insert at the bottom if you have a little girl.
- Place a comfortable reusable fleece liner liner the liner - the fleece liner against your baby's skin and provides layer to keep your baby safe.
Fit guide – washable diaper
1. Place the diaper under your baby, just above your baby's bottom
2. Pull up the front of the diaper and hold it flat against your baby, just like a disposable diaper
3. Pull the left tab up and around and attach hip poppers to waist poppers
4.Repeat with the right side so that the diaper is snug but not too tight, making sure it fits snugly around the legs. Adjust buttons if necessary. For the smallest waist adjustment, attach wing to wing, and as baby grows, move to wider knobs
Fit guide – nappy wrap
1. Place your baby on the opened nappy wrap so that it covers your nappy at the back. Raise the front of the coverall like you did with the washable diaper and determine if you need to adjust the snaps. (It might be a good idea to snap these into place first once you know how your baby fits, so you don't try to adjust to a wobbly baby!)
2. The nappy wrap are designed as a size to fit most babies, so you need to adjust the waist. If you use the Cheeky wipes washable diaper size 1 (smallest), you need the press studs in the front row. If you are using Cheeky wipes size 2 (medium) washable diaper you will probably need the poppers on the second row. If you're using Cheeky wipes size 3 (largest) diaper, you probably won't be using any of the snaps (leave them all open)
3. Once you've adjusted the waist, like you did with the diaper, keep the front flat against your baby
4. Pull the left tab up and around and attach hip buttons to the waist buttons. Repeat with the right side so that the diaper is snug but not too tight. For the smallest waist adjustment, attach wing to wing, and as baby grows, move to wider knobs
5. Adjust the knobs if necessary. You should be able to fit 2 fingers into the front of the diaper to make sure it fits comfortably.
6. Make sure the liner covers the whole diaper and no bamboo dust is showing. Check that the leg elastics are tight but not too tight
Do I have to soak my washable diaper before washing it?
We recommend putting the diapers dry in the bucket as the fabrics in the diapers can be damaged if they are soaked in water for a long time and this will shorten the life of the diaper. If you put the nappies in the bucket dry, make sure you don't leave them for more than 2 days before washing, as pee and poop can damage the material in your nappies and cause 'balding'.
What is the best way to rinse or prewash my diapers?
We recommend using a soaker and laundry bucket to rinse and strain your nappies before putting them in the washing machine. This can simply be done with water. You can do a cold rinse or a quick wash in your washing machine without using detergent, harsh stain remover or bleach as this can damage the fibers in the diaper.
