Sonett has pioneered in ecological washing and cleaning products since 1977. The company's headquarters are located near Lake Constance in southern Germany in the town of Deggenhausertal. Sonnet's detergents and cleaning products are now mainly available through health food stores in more than 45 countries. Beate Oberdorfer and Gerhard Heid are currently in charge and over 100 employees work for Sonett. Beate and Gerhard combine their knowledge in the chemistry behind food and sales at the company.

Sustainable use of water

Sonett has a great goal. The mission behind Sonett is to bring washing and cleaning in line with nature. The idea behind this is that water is the carrier of all life and that we should therefore handle it with great care and responsibility. Assuming that water is the actual washing and cleaning agent, Sonett's products only contain readily biodegradable substances such as vegetable soap and minerals such as soda. This supports the natural cleaning power of the water and we are sure that the water will quickly return to the cycle of nature.

Based on the research of the natural scientist Johannes Schnorr, who works at the Institute for Strömingswissenschaften around 1970, the idea for a natural environmentally friendly detergent was born. The basic idea for this new detergent is that all ingredients must be biodegradable and the raw materials must be added as sparingly as possible. All ingredients used by Sonett are therefore completely biodegradable. In addition, all products are free from enzymes petrochemical tensides, fragrances and dyes, preservatives and bleaches.

What Sonett does use are natural and organic ingredients and raw materials. Olive oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil and palm oil all 100% organically cultivated. The energy required for the production of Sonnet's washing and cleaning products also comes from a natural source. The one half comes from the hydropower plant located near the site in southern Germany. The other half comes from Greenpeace Energy.

Certificates and quality

All Sonett products meet the ECOGARANTIE certificate. This is the premium mark for ecological washing and cleaning products in organic shops. In addition, Sonnet is certified with the Stop Climate Change quality mark. This quality mark means that the CO2 emissions have been examined and that the company provides transparency in the processes that cause CO2 emissions. The analysis at Sonnet has shown that there is virtually no CO2 emissions here. As of 2015, Sonett also carries the CSE certificate (Certified Sustainable Economics). In addition to the ecological requirements for the products, the entire company is certified on the basis of the social and ethical principles of the company.
