Denttabs

What is Dentabs?

The proDentum dental laboratory was founded in Berlin in 1992 by Axel Kaiser and his two brothers. This laboratory was intended to produce high quality dentures at a significantly lower price than the competition. At the end of the 90s, the company took a different tack. Axel supported a client with his master's thesis, on dry toothpaste. Normal toothpaste often contains many unnecessary ingredients that can be harmful to the body. In 2003 the first tablet was developed, of what we now know as Denttabs

Why tablets?

We are so used to using toothpaste that it seems like a strange step to switch to tablets. Still, there are plenty of benefits to Denttabs. For example, the tablets contain only 12 or 13 ingredients, all of which contribute to good dental care. Unlike regular toothpaste, which contains many more ingredients such as unnecessary and potentially harmful parabens and microplastics. Because Denttabs consist of 70% cellulose, your teeth are gently polished, and plaque does not get a chance to form.

Durability

Because Denttabs are a lot less heavy than regular toothpaste, 80% less packaging can be used. The few packaging of Denttabs is also compostable and organic. Another advantage is that all tablets can be used, unlike toothpaste where up to 14% remains unused in the empty tube. Due to the smaller weight, transport can also be more efficient, which means that CO2 emissions are significantly reduced. This makes the product completely climate neutral, according to a study in combination with Climate Partner.
